Cleaning for a Reason is a non-profit, charitable organization founded to provide FREE and discounted housecleaning services to women undergoing cancer treatment. It's the only Foundation in America cleaning homes for women with cancer.

"Having a clean home when you have cancer is a relief to my patients," said Dr. Kandace Farmer, a practitioner at Solis Women's Health, a breast care center in Denton, Texas. Dr. Farmer is a member of the Foundation's Board of Directors.

The Soap and Detergent Association (SDA - www.cleaning101.com), which represents the U.S. cleaning products industry, is a strong supporter of the Foundation and also serves on the Foundation's Board of Directors.

"Cleaning for a Reason provides peace of mind to women undergoing treatment for cancer so that they can concentrate on their health. Ensuring that patients have a clean environment when immune systems are compromised is a true gift that our partners are providing in 44 states," said Nancy Bock, SDA Vice President of Education.

"There is a strong link between health and hygiene. SDA is proud to join the more than 380 housekeeping services nationwide that understand the importance of properly using cleaning products to provide a sanitary environment for women in need."

Champagne Services is the first Charter Partner of the Foundation in Virginia. The monthly pledges of time and money from individual maid services help fund the Foundation's base operations while providing free cleaning to women with cancer.

Carrie Kiser, co-owner and founder of Champagne Services, says “we have been helping people for years with free and reduced price service when we see them undergoing such a difficult time during their treatment phase. Cleaning for a Reason gives legs and a voice to calling out to others who need similar assistance. It is very gratifying to see that you are helping those who really need it”.

Fighting cancer is tough; living with it day to day is even tougher. Many of the organizations out there do a lot to raise money for cancer research but Cleaning for a Reason has recruited over 420 caring housecleaning company owners in over 44 states who have the heart to devote their resources to provide practical assistance to women while they are undergoing treatment. Champagne Services donates free monthly, 4-hour cleanings for four months to each approved patient.

Requests for services are made through the Cleaning for a Reason website, www.CleaningforaReason.org and their call center. Once cancer patients have been verified through their physician, they are matched with a local Cleaning for a Reason partner who will do the actual housecleaning.
